Jim Rein, principal and leader of Next Gen services, has more than 20 years of experience in consulting, taxation, and advisory services for family owned businesses that include agriculture, manufacturing, and distribution industries.  His depth of knowledge in these fields lends to his innate ability to minimize risks, maximize assets, increase equity, and decrease the tax burden for businesses.

As the leader of KCoe Isom’s Next Gen advisory team, Jim provides business owners with guidance surrounding long-term planning decisions to meet both business and personal goals.  He specializes in succession planning, legacy/wealth building, estate and tax strategy, next gen development, and transition management, with the ultimate purpose of securing long-term success.  Jim helps business owners navigate through tough business decisions, emotionally charged family discussions, and entity transitions.

He has notable agriculture experience, working with farmers and ranchers for over 25 years to:

  • Protect and keep their wealth by designing estate plans based on specific goals.
  • Minimize tax burden within various transactional events (selling farmland or a business, for example).
  • Prepare, plan, and execute the transition of agribusinesses.

As a certified public accountant (CPA), Jim Rein is an expert in the areas of estate strategy and gift planning to minimize taxation.
