Field to Market, an alliance of U.S.-based farmers, ag companies, and stakeholders who aim to advance sustainable agriculture, just launched a new tool (Fieldprint Platform Version 5) that enables powerful new GHG quantification features and soil carbon modeling for food and ag value chains. What makes this a game-changer for growers and sustainability leaders? Our sustainability advisors show how it could reshape your approach to scope 3 reporting.
What is Fieldprint Platform Version 5?
Field to Market’s Fieldprint Platform is an industry-leading tool used to benchmark commodity crop sustainability data, which has been updated to meet the demands of the current sustainability landscape. Version 5 of the platform launched in September of 2025 with enhanced scope 3 reporting, new soil carbon modeling, alignment with GHG Protocol standards, and an improved user experience. These updates are designed to support the food and agriculture industry with sustainability goals and initiatives.
What makes this version different?
Version 5 has the capability to model and benchmark sustainability data for 17 crops, including alfalfa, barley, chickpeas, corn (for grain and silage), cotton, dry beans, dry peas, fava beans, lentils, lupin, peanuts, potatoes, rice, sorghum, soybeans, sugar beets, and wheat. The platform calculates multiple key sustainability metrics, including:
- Land use
- Soil conservation
- Soil carbon
- Irrigation water use
- GHG emissions
- Energy use
- Biodiversity impacts
- Water quality
It not only helps users calculate sustainability metrics but also allows them to benchmark their farms against national and state averages, showing them how they compare to their peers.
This new version incorporates the SWAT+ model, a Tier 3 calculator that meets the GHG Protocol’s requirements for calculating soil carbon sequestration from regenerative agriculture projects. When coupled with Field to Market’s Fieldprint Project Standards, V5 provides a robust solution for on-farm project implementation and measurement.
Who can use the platform?
The platform is free of charge to growers and is available through qualified data management partners. It’s a powerful tool that allows anyone to calculate sustainability impacts at the farm-level, helping industry members meet GHG reduction targets and understand the impacts of regenerative farming practices.
